Optimize Fittings

Summary

The Optimize Fitting feature merges duct straights with connected fittings based on a user-defined tolerance.

  • eVolve tab ⮞ Quick Tools panel ⮞ Optimize Fitting button

IMPORTANT: Currently, this feature only works with the following rectangular fittings in the eVolve Origin database.

  • CID #20 - Square Bend
  • CID #17 - Radius Bend
  • CID #02 - Transition
  • CID #30 - Mitered Offset
  • CID #09 - Radius Offset
  • CID #13 - Tee
  • CID #14 - Radius Tee
  • CID #02 - Transition

Usage

  1. From the eVolve ribbon, in the Quick Tools panel, click Optimize Fitting.
  2. From the drawing area, select the desired fitting(s).
  3. From the Options Bar, click Finish.
  4. From the drawing area, select the desired straight(s).
    NOTE: straight longer than the specified tolerance will not be highlighted/selectable.
  5. From the Options Bar, click Finish. The select straight(s) are merged into the fitting(s).

Setting a tolerance

  1. From the eVolve ribbon, in the Quick Tools panel, click the Optimize Fitting menu and click Optimize Fitting Tolerance.
  2. From the Optimize Fitting Tolerance window, enter the desired value in the Tolerance dialog.
