Description Builder
Summary
Creates custom descriptions dynamically from configurable profiles.
- eVolve tab ⮞ Utilities panel ⮞ Description Builder button
Prerequisites
Usage
- From the eVolve ribbon, in the Utilities panel, click Description Builder.
- From the Description Builder window, select the desired profile from the Profile menu.
- For each row in the grid select the desired Value and click OK.
- From the drawing area, select element(s) to receive the description then click Finish in the Options Bar to assign the description.
Window Overview
- Profile menu - sets the active profile that runs against the selected elements.
Grid Columns
- Order - displays the order set in the profile's configuration. The description is built in order from left to right.
- Field - displays the assigned field name set in the profile's configuration. Choose a vlue for each field to build a description.
- Value menu- initially displays the defaulted value but may be changed if other values have been set up in the profile's configuration. Choose a value to build a description.
- Preview panel - displays a sample of the description for the currently selected profile. While no actual value data is used in the preview, if defined, the sample data includes Prefixes, Suffixes, and Global Separators along with the 'Display' value assigned to the parameters.
Tips and Tricks
- When configuring a profile take advantage of the default choice to save time.
- Elements can be selected before starting Description Builder to receive the chosen description.
